The Big Daddy Story

     
     The Big Daddy Story started many years ago in Cheshire, MA, located in northern Berkshire County.  My love of boomerangs started when I was a teenager and purchased my first Australian style boomerang at a gift shop in Canada and bought a book on how to make and throw boomerangs.  I was able to get my new boomerang to work and thought it would be great to make my own!  I started making cross-stick style boomerangs in my garage with some friends.    

     Boomerangs took a back seat for a while during my college years, then made a comeback after I was married and had 3 boys. I decided to create my own recreation style boomerangs to have a new activity with the kids and to share with friends.  

     My three sons called me "Big Daddy" growing up, so when I decided to start selling my cool creations, I thought that would be a neat company name.  That's how Big Daddy Boomerangs was born!  I had a small run in 2006 at a couple holiday craft fairs, then went more serious into the business in 2012 with my first official website!  From there it's been a very exciting journey with a "booming" business!  

    Kari and the kids will paint the blank panels of wood, then I trace out the templates of the different models.  I then carve and sand the airfoils.  Next the boomerangs will get a seal coat for testing at a local field.  Once they pass the flight test, I will brand and sign the back.         

     Because of our unique way of creating our wooden boomerangs, each one is a unique work-of-art as well as a functioning sporting good!  This is the Big Daddy way.  Thank you for looking and Many Happy Returns!
